I
assisted the designer in assembling the horse
head masks (copper tubing) and boots (plywood "hoof" with copper tubing
accents, and leather upper.)
|
On stage, the copper tubing,
of
course, took light wonderfully. The hooves created a wonderful
"clopping" sound
as the horses entered and moved about the stage. |

My first costume construction job,
I followed and adapted a historic pattern, and built the costume out of
leather, lacing it together with strapping.

I, along with three other people,
sculpted
these masks out of clay, used Celastic to create the masks, and finally
painted the masks. Though I use the term "mask", these pieces
were worn on top of the head, so no part of the actor's face was
covered.
