Production
Notes:
Oliver!
is a touch of light music and boyhood
adventure in the midst of a dark and sometimes violent world. To
reflect this in lighting, the world of Mr. Brownlow and the respectable
side of Oliver are lit fully in warm light. Other parts of
Oliver's
story, such life at "The Three Cripples" is textured with
shadows,
but are still fairly warm, as the good intentions of Nancy fill the
bar.
"The Thieve's Kitchen," home of Fagin and his band of boy robbers is
cold
and shadowy, yet there is still a warm glow found in the stove as even
the shady Fagin has a bit of soft spot for young Oliver.
